The Ingram Distillery Ventures into the Unknown with New Wheated Bourbon: Uncharted Latest Addition to Ingram’s Award-Winning Fleet Packaged in 100% Recycled Glass COLUMBUS, KY (September 3, 2025) – The Ingram Distillery is proud to unveil today its latest game-changing whiskey: Uncharted Kentucky Wheated Bourbon. Packaged in 100% recycled glass, Uncharted is a wheated bourbon that, like all Ingram whiskies, has spent its entire life on the Mississippi River. Here, it’s exposed to the constant motion, humidity and microclimate of the river to create complexity through a unique interaction between whiskey and oak. Long known for its award-winning O.H. Ingram River Aged series, Uncharted is a completely new expression with a life and story of its own. It’s a terrific compliment to The Ingram Distillery fleet. “Uncharted is all about celebrating...

Pine Bluffs Distilling Ryed Bourbon

Image
Jeff here.  Mutt and I tag teamed the bottles we received from Pine Bluffs Distilling out of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming and we were super impressed by everything from the packaging, their website and of course, the whiskey.  Today I'm tasting and discussing Pine Bluffs Distilling Ryed Bourbon , a high corn mash bill that consists of corn (60%), rye (20%) and malt (20%).   When Chad and Theresa Brown set out to build their dream in southeast Wyoming, the distillery was a pipe dream from the creation of home distilling.  The unassuming, state-of-the-art distillery "in the middle of nowhere" now supports the local community with everything from purchasing local grains to providing local jobs for people passionate about whiskey and other spirits. The first thing I noticed about this Batch 11 Ryed Bourbon was the bottle.  If you've been around here long enough, you know  how I feel about the importance of smart packaging from the top to the bottom and the front t...

Redemption Rye and Redemption Bourbon

Image
The folks at Redemption Whiskey take their spirits very seriously.  We should emphasize that they are very passionate about what they do and they are obsessed with Rye whiskey in particular.  Their heavy Rye spirits celebrate the history of Rye being distilled as far back as the 1600's.   Many times when you run across someone who considers themselves "a bourbon guy or gal" they might quickly follow up with, "but I'm not big on Rye whiskey".  We get it.  There have been countless horror stories of Rye being too spicy or too hot.  But you'll never find this with Redemption Whiskey! The Redemption Rye  is a serious mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, resulting in a medium golden whiskey with mouth-watering, bold aromas of spring garden, spices, white pepper, toasted sourdough bread and citrus fruits.  Those aromas carry over to the palate and also carry hints of spring boquet and delicious grilling spices.  While this spirit comes i...

J Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey

Image
There has been a buzz online for several months about J Rieger's whiskey offerings.  Admittedly, we weren't familiar, but the excitement was growing both locally and across the country since they released their first bottle about 20 months ago.  Well, it's not their first, but there was that pesky Prohibition that go in the way.  It only takes a spark to get a fire going, right?  When we came across this bottle of J Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey at a local liquor store, we snatched it up.  In fact, it was the last bottle on the shelf and it has been difficult to find since that time.  Why?  Well, let us tell you! This is a blended whiskey, coming at 92 proof.  The blend includes straight rye whiskey, straight bourbon whiskey and light corn whiskey - all aged 4 years or more.  But there's also the smallest amount of oloroso sherry from spain (15 year) that is introduced to the blend to create a unique and welcoming flavor profile. ...
