Dappled Authenic Craft Tonic Water

At Drink The Bottles, we are more than just a site to find the best drinks in the world.  We also celebrate the complete lifestyle brand and products that are complimentary to your wines and spirits.  When we find such an amazing product, we have to taste it, experiment with it, and of course - share it with you!

For some, it might be difficult to get too excited about tonic water.  Most drink enthusiasts concentrate on the spirit, but give little thought to the accoutrement that brings everything into a nice, delicious little package.  Dappled Authentic Craft Tonic Water is so delicious that it doesn't (dare we say it?) even need a spirit to guide it.  These flavors are so welcoming that they can be enjoyed by themselves and each one has unique and refreshing flavors.

Dappled Tonic Water

After tasting all three varieties - Floral, Citrus and Aromatic - we thought it best if we tasted one of these in a gin and tonic.  But which to choose?  All three offerings present flavors that would pair well.  In fact, the Dappled Tonic Water team will tell you that their products are also great partners with vodka, tequila,brandy, rum, whiskey and sweet vermouth.  Who knew?  

Dappled Tonic Water - 3 Flavors

The Dappled website has a ton of options for pairings for each expression, including non-alcoholic options.

For the Aromatic flavor, Dappled suggests garnish options of orange, fresh herbs, cinnamon stick, lemon or pear.  

Citrus garnish suggestions include fresh herbs, edible flowers, black pepper and apple.

The Floral option likes to be paired with fresh berries, edible flowers, citrus and thyme.

Dappled Gin & Tonic

So which did we choose?  We created our Gin & Tonic with Vim & Petal Gin from Middle West Spirits and the Dappled Aromatic Tonic Water.  Our garnish (did we fail here?) was a Tipsy Cherry.

Recipe:
  • Fill a rocks glass about 1/3 with crushed ice
  • Add 2 ounces of gin
  • Fill remaining glass with Dappled Tonic Water and stir
  • Garnish with Tipsy Cherry
This drink was absolutely delectable and extremely refreshing!  When you think about summer drinks, Dappled should be your "go to" tonic water.  It's really incredible.  This all-women team is comprised of three experts in the food, beverage and branding fields.  We think they have a bright future!  #Love

Every so often, when the timing is right and the aging process is exactly  where they want it to be, Augusta Distillery releases their Buckner's Single Barrel 13 Year Bourbon.  There are two things you should know about this bourbon; it is delicious and it always sells out - quickly!  The bottle we are tasting today has a "bonus" to it if are a proof hound, because this one is just a tick away from being considered a hazmat bottle.  Let's get into it... 2020 Fieldhouse 301 Red Wine

  This was our first experience with the wines offered by Scout & Cellar of Texas.  They seem to have a little bit of something for just about everyone, especially if you are budget-minded, as most of their offerings are in the $19 - $36 range.  At those prices you can find a daily drinker, no doubt!  This wine is the 2020 Fieldhouse 301 Red Wine (blend) from California.  You would typically find Cabernet Sauvignon in a red blend, but this one is a combination of Zinfandel (48%), Merlot (23%), Petite Sirah (12%), Carignan (9%) and Barbera (8%).   You don't find Carignan in too many California wines, even as a blending grape, so that was interesting to us.  This wine had a great medium purple color with blackberry, coffee bean and menthol nose.  With a lighter-to-medium mouthfeel, flavors of sweet blackberry preserves, roasted coffee beans, pepper and red licorice.  This is not a sugar bomb (if we have given that impression) but it i...

Spring is the most pleasant time of the year. Days start to get longer and warmer, and spending time outside suddenly feels very inviting.
